wao.io (like all CDNs) acts as a proxy between clients (Web browsers) and the origin servers. All traffic is directed to wao.io servers. Proxy requests go from there to the origin. Thus, at the origin all requests come from wao.io.

This may trigger false alarms in systems that count requests per IP address or associate an IP with a distinct client.

Customers should whitelist the outgoing wao.io IP addresses.

Requests from our system come from the following IP networks:

If the IP ranges of wao.io are not included in the origins whitelist, it may happen that wao.io is locked and can no longer access the origin servers.

In this case all requests from clients are answered with an error message and a WAO error from the range 2200-2299.

This article describes how to investigate whether this problem is present on your site.
